Coming Soon - the website for a new novel by Bruce Goode
Everything Is Numbered follows sixty-two-year-old Gordon Pruitt, an unemployed former medical billing administrator who decides to build a pre-cut log home kit by himself on an isolated mountain parcel east of Klamath Falls, Oregon.
Confronting extreme cold, rugged dirt roads, water scarcity, and his own lack of construction experience, he relies on sequencing and documentation skills.
When compounding errors force him to tear down half his work and a dangerous mishap pins his leg under a heavy timber, he must confront his stubborn insistence on total self-sufficiency, eventually seeking the help of a quiet neighbor to raise the structural ridge beam.
